What is laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal is an aesthetic treatment that helps remove unwanted hair so you no longer have to waste time shaving or spend money on waxing. Dr. Crackower uses his laser hair removal system to remove unwanted hair from anywhere on your body, including:

How does laser hair removal work?
Laser hair removal works by destroying the growth of your hair at its root. During treatment, the laser energy focuses on the follicle of your hair, heats and damages it, stopping further hair growth.
To get the best results from your laser hair removal treatment, Dr. Crackower recommends you refrain from tweezing or waxing your hair for at least four weeks so as to not to disturb the hair follicle. Shaving is acceptable, especially before treatment to help ensure the laser focuses on the follicle and not your hair.
What can I expect during treatment?
During treatment, you may feel a warm pinprick of sensation as the laser energy destroys your hair follicle. The duration of your treatment depends on the area you’re having done. For your upper lip, it may only take a few minutes, but your legs could take up to an hour.
Due to the variations in the growth cycle of your hair, you will need a series of treatments set at very specific intervals. Dr. Crackower provides a treatment plan so you know what to expect before you get started.
After treatment, your skin may be red, but these side effects will disappear quickly and you should be able to resume your regular activities without the need for any downtime.
The hair doesn’t disappear immediately, but over the next few days to few weeks after treatment, you’ll notice smoother skin as the hair falls out.
Is the hair gone for good?
Dr. Crackower can help get rid of your unwanted hair, but everyone’s results are different. Your skin may remain hair-free for several months or several years. However, when you do get hair regrowth, the hair will come back lighter and finer.
